Flush Veneer Doors FAQs

Q. Do the doors come in fixed sizes, or can they be made to fit any opening?
A. The beauty of custom doors is they can be made to fit to any sized opening. Since we come to your home to measure your existing doors, we can ensure your new doors fit the opening exactly.

Q. How much do they cost?
A. It depends on wood species, sketch type (pattern of veneer), dimensions of doors, size of order, etc., but a "typical" 2'-8" wide by 6-8" high door in VG fir, with the "type 20" pattern on both sides, machined for standard hardware (hardware not included), as part of an order of about 8 doors, would cost approximately $825, including finishing, delivery and installation.

Q. Do the frames have to be changed?
A. No they don’t, we measure and machine to fit your existing frames and hinges/strike.

Q. Does the hardware have to be changed?
A. It doesn't need to be. We machine your new doors to work with your existing hardware. We can offer replacement hardware in the same size as the existing, if you want to update the look (eg. replace brass with brushed stainless).

Q. I don’t see a design that’s perfect for me, can I get something different?
A. Yes. The face types and veneers shown are just examples. Bring us your ideas - these are hand-made for you.

Q. How long does it take to get the doors?
A. We have a lead time of 8 weeks, from order to installation.

Q. How long will someone be in my home doing the replacement?
A. Based on the average of 6 doors per condo, typical installation can be completed in one day.

Q. What happens to the old doors that are removed?
A. We take them away and dispose of them responsibly. Some doors go to Habitat for Humanity.

Q. Can I get my front door replaced?
A. If you are part of a strata you will probably need to have the change approved. We do offer suite entry doors, fire rated up to 90 minutes. We don't recommend our doors for very exposed outdoor locations.

Q. Can bi-fold or bypass closet doors be replaced?
A. Yes. We can also provide light weight cores, to work better with lighter-duty close door hardware.
